Hearing God’s Voice
Scripture:“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” — John 10:27
Reflection
One of the greatest gifts of fasting is the increased awareness of God’s voice. As distractions lessen and our hearts become more attentive, we are reminded that God is always speaking—we simply need the posture to listen.
Hearing God’s voice is not reserved for a select few. Jesus makes it clear that His followers recognize and respond to Him. Fasting helps quiet competing voices—worry, busyness, fear—so that God’s truth can rise above the noise.
Today is an invitation to listen more than speak, to wait rather than rush. God often speaks in gentle whispers, not urgency or pressure. When we slow down, we make room for clarity, direction, and peace.
Prayer
Lord, quiet my heart and mind so I can hear You clearly. Help me discern Your voice above all others and respond in obedience. I trust that You are guiding me and speaking with love and purpose. Amen.
Faith in Action
Create intentional moments of silence and stillness today. Resist the urge to fill every quiet space. Listen for God through Scripture, prayer, or gentle impressions, and write down anything He brings to your heart.
Reflection Questions
What distractions make it difficult for me to listen?
How do I usually recognize God’s voice?
What might God be inviting me to hear or respond to today?
Today’s Focus
Spiritual attentiveness and listening to God
