Hunger for God
Scripture:“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” — Matthew 5:6
Reflection
By Day 3 of the fast, physical hunger often becomes more noticeable—but it also serves as a reminder of a deeper spiritual truth. Just as our bodies crave nourishment, our souls long for God. Fasting brings that longing into focus.
Hunger is not a weakness; it is an invitation. It reveals our dependence and directs our attention to the One who truly satisfies. Jesus reminds us that those who hunger for righteousness will be filled—not temporarily, but fully.
This fast is creating space for God to awaken a deeper desire within us. As natural hunger arises, let it point you back to prayer, Scripture, and reliance on God. Allow the discomfort to become a doorway to intimacy.
Prayer
Lord, deepen my hunger for You. More than anything else, I want righteousness, truth, and closeness with You. Teach me to desire Your presence above all else and trust that You will fill me completely. Amen.
Faith in Action
When hunger or discomfort arises today, pause and pray instead of pushing through quickly. Use those moments as reminders to turn your attention toward God, even briefly, and invite Him to fill you spiritually.
